Biogas (green energy)

Dregs left after the production of bioethanol are being mixed and supplemented by organic materials and placed into biogas reactors where biogas is being produced from them.

Biogas – a mix of methane (CH4) and carbonic acid (CO2) produced during biological degradation processes of organic materials.

25 millions of Nm³ of biogas are being produced yearly.

Biogas is being burned in cogenerators and steam boilers of thermal power plants. Electricity and thermal power together reaches 16.5 MW.

A part of thermal energy and electricity is being used for technological process. Another part of electricity is being sold to AB LESTO.  Residual energy is being sold to AB “Panevėžio energija” Pasvalys Regional boiler.
